The Ability to Inspire

I continue to be amazed by the people

God places in my life at just the right moments.

Shannon Horne has CP.

But this does not define her.

Shannon was a high school cheerleader,

she participated in Ms. Wheelchair Florida,

she is a mother of 2,

she surfs,

and she is a motivational speaker.

Her positive outlook on life,

personal strength, and dedication to service

are inspiring.

On Saturday, November 16 between 11am and 1pm,

she and 2 of her personal trainers

will be holding a fitness session for anyone with disabilities

at Memorial Park in Riverside.

Please pass this information along

and support Shannon in her effort to help our

disabled friends and loved ones learn to

strengthen and become more in tune with their bodies.

Running to Live

This year I was honored to be asked to photograph the

20th Annual Disney Marathon

for the

Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

There is so much emotion that goes into finishing any marathon.

But when people are running for someone else

and not for themselves,

there’s something life-changing about the experience.

It begs the question –

Who would you run for?

The day started rather early.

Santa managed to make an appearance.

probably hoping to work off all

those cookies he ate on

Christmas Eve.

as did Peter Pan.

a salute to our first responders –

full gear including an oxygen tank,

and still smiling at mile 23.

a true hero.
